1/4 Industrial Style & Schrader Valve to 1/4 SAE Adapters for Winterizing Sprinkler Systems with Lead-Free Brass

The fittings included in this package can be utilized to connect an air compressor and bike tire pump to a backflow preventer valve (also known as a pressure vacuum breaker) for the purpose of winterization. The packaging is designed to be reusable. Instructions for winterizing a backflow preventer using compressed air and a bicycle tire pump are provided on the packaging. The package includes: (1) 1/4” Industrial Style to Female 1/4” SAE 45° Flare and (2) Schrader Valve to Female 1/4” SAE 45° Flare Fittings. It is important to note that most backflow preventers come with either male 1/4” SAE 45° Flare or female NPT connections (refer to the image), although some may have different sizes of fittings. The fittings in this package are specifically designed to fit male 1/4” SAE 45° Flare connections. The thread outer diameter should be approximately 0.43” (please refer to the picture). These fittings will not fit female NPT connections, so it is recommended to check the type of connection on your backflow preventer before making a purchase. For the safety of your health, the brass fittings included are made from lead-free brass, containing less than 0.25% lead. Lead-free brass is more expensive to manufacture, costing about 30% more than regular brass. However, it is also stronger, harder, and more durable compared to regular leaded brass. It is advised to always wear safety goggles when handling or using compressed air. This winterization tool is constructed from a solid lead-free brass casting, ensuring heavy-duty performance.
